Pilot launching in Rockaway

One parent adds it. The whole neighborhood has it.

Park Bench turns flyers, school emails, and group chat chaos into one family calendar. When a parent at your school adds an event, it shows up for every family who needs it.

Local knowledge, right on your family calendar.

Free for NYC families. Private by default.

The more families join, the better it gets for everyone.

How it works

One flyer. One parent. Every calendar.

Right now every family in the class reads the same flyer and types the same event into their own calendar. Park Bench lets one parent do it for everyone.

The technology

1. Snap it

Take a photo of a flyer, forward a school email, or just say it out loud. Park Bench pulls out the date, time, place, and ages and turns it into a real event.

The community

2. Share it

Send it to your Circle: your kid's class, your school, your block, the travel soccer team. You're connected to your school and neighborhood the moment you join.

Together

3. Everyone's covered

It lands on every family calendar that needs it, and updates for everyone if the time changes. No reply-all, no missed flyer at the bottom of the backpack.

Park Bench is technology and community.

What the technology already knows

  • Your school's calendar, preloaded: holidays, half days, and parent-teacher conferences
  • Events from museums, parks, and libraries, filtered for your kids' ages and your free time
  • Your family's routines, so you can say “move piano to Thursday” and it just happens

What your neighbors know

  • The flyer that came home in one backpack and never made it to the class email
  • The game that moved because of the rain, and the new time
  • The pop-up, the block party, and the storytime nobody posted online

Both end up in one place: your family calendar.

And it's a really good family calendar, too.

Talk to it like a person

No forms, no date pickers. Rocco, your family activities director, remembers your routines so you stop repeating yourself.

Know what's worth doing

NYC-only sources, filtered for your kids, your neighborhood, the weather, and the gaps in your actual schedule.

One source of truth

Syncs with the calendar you already use and keeps every parent and caregiver on the same page.

Why we built it

“Other apps give you a smarter way to carry it all alone. I wanted to share it.”

I'm Clare, a lifelong New Yorker and a mom of two, raising my family in Rockaway. Somewhere between soccer practice, school flyers, and the group text about the group text, I realized every parent I knew was doing the exact same work, alone, in their own kitchen.

Park Bench is my answer. The technology does the sorting. The community does the sharing. One parent adds it, and everyone gets a little of their evening back. We're starting right here in Rockaway and growing one neighborhood at a time.

The Rockaway pilot

Starting in Rockaway. One neighborhood at a time.

A calendar gets better when your neighbors are on it. So instead of launching everywhere at once, we're starting with one peninsula and making it great.

  • Rockaway Park
  • Belle Harbor
  • Neponsit
  • Rockaway Beach
  • Arverne
  • Edgemere
  • Far Rockaway
  • Breezy Point
  • Broad Channel

Next: 187 neighborhoods and 7,000+ schools across all five boroughs.

Park Bench is like having a second brain for our family. Everything I used to juggle in my head, from school events to weekend plans, is finally in one place.
